Let's get to know one another, let's get to know one other!

The Association was founded by young, dynamic, and creative Roma and non-Roma alike who care deeply about the fate of gypsy society and culture. All its members are either students at or graduates of institutes of higher learning, and have experience with various civic groups.

Goals:

Our goal is the creation of wide-ranging programs which promote the integration of the Roma people into the European Union, into Hungarian society and Roma communities while ensuring the preservation of their cultural autonomy. We wish to build a societal bridge which, while fostering gypsy cultural identity, leads to the development of a European mentality where tolerance is enhanced, cultural differences are valued through their mutual acceptance, and both Roma and non-Roma society is enriched as a result.

Activities:

Documentation of European Roma culture and traditions. Collection and research work designed to enhance the preservation and spread of Roma cultural values and strengthening of their identity. Utilization of our collection of Roma art, dance, music, stories, habits, and expressions to produce sound publications and documentaries. Cataloging of previously documented cultural materials and making available their use.

With the development of international connections, the creation of a database and information line where all international and Hungarian Roma organizations are represented.

Publication of a series of printed material dealing with Roma issues as well as a series of educational films. Organization of presentations, seminars, training activities, admission exam prep courses, language courses, cultural events, discussion groups and conferences.
